AICE (The Association of Independent Creative Editors) just announced the award-winners for this year and Joe Remerowski and Charles Son are the big Spec Spot editorial winners for Frito-Lay’s “Doritos Guy” (directed by Son). The video is a play on you-tube fandom and our all-around love for Dorito snack foods. The piece features not only the Pictures In a Row conference room, but also Picrow staff members hidden in plain sight.
And if that weren’t enough, the Peter-Lang-directed spot for Jaguar’s “XKR-S” won Neil Gust of Outside Editorial, N.Y., the top editor spot in the New/Emerging/Alternative Media category. The video is engrossing, pulling the viewer into Mad Max-meets-The Matrix with white sand desert roads and the shock waves of driving fast and hard.
